After a run in with the secret mechanism known as the Psyche-Magnitron and the intervention of the Kree spy Mar-vell, USAF pilot Carol Danvers was mutated on a genetic level and resembled something akin to a human Kree hybrid. She was granted many of Mar-Vell’s abilities including super strength, durability, and flight and, after a lengthy career going by the name “Ms. Marvel,” soon picked up the Captain Marvel mantle to protect the Earth and worlds beyond!
